A new GeForce MX150 GPU has been recently announced by Nvidia. The said device brings GPU acceleration mainly geared towards video processing, photo editing, and gaming.

The Pascal-based successor to GeForce 940MX has been revealed by Nvidia just before the Computex event in Taiwan. Although the announcement was made, technical details about the new video card for laptops still remains elusive.

As of the current writing, what Nvidia has released about their new device is that its uses GDDR5 memory type, according to AnandTech. As to be expected, such upgrade offers better performance than that of the GeForce 940MX.

In a more concrete presentation, Nvidia's GeForce MX150 offers 20 percent more boost when it comes to photo editing. Moreover, in terms of video processing and gaming performance, the MX150 is far more superior to 940MX by being 33 percent faster, according to Hexus.

For the test run of their latest device, Nvidia tested their latest offering with game titles like Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, or World of Tanks.  Based on the outcome, MX150 is said to be capable of delivering "full HD resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second".

In the aspect of power efficiency, the new Pascal-based device helps deliver significant advantages, especially for laptop users concern about it. It is expected that new laptops featuring MX150 GPU from f Acer, Asus, HP, and MSI, will begin shipping in June.
