OnePlus 5 is coming soon as the company's CEO Lau Pete recently confirmed that OnePlus is developing its next flagship phone. The upcoming OnePlus 5 is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated smartphones of 2017. Meanwhile, after the success of Google's first-gen Pixel smartphones, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the search giant is now working on rolling out its second iteration.

OnePlus 5

The OnePlus 5 is expected to come with 5.5-inch dual-curved edge AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD 1080p. The OnePlus 5 is likely to come with the Snapdragon 835 processor with 8GB of RAM. The OnePlus 5 will come in two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. On the front, the device is expected to sport a 16-megapixel shooter and a dual-camera setup on the rear to help users capture better photos in low light conditions. The OnePlus 5 will run on the Android 7.1 out of the box and a 4000mAh battery life capacity.

Google Pixel 2

The Google Pixel 2 is likely to come with a curved OLED display, and would feature the stunning curved "Infinity Displays." The next-gen smartphone is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor with eight cores. It is also likely to run on the Android O operating system out of the box. As for the cameras, Google is reportedly focusing on enhancing the device's camera. It will be water resistant and will feature Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0 feature with USB-C, 4K display Daydream ready, and Quick Charge 4.0. 

Verdict

There are rumors that the OnePlus 5 will hit the market before the end of June with a price tag of $450. The OnePlus 5 has the upper hand when it comes to RAM size.

Meanwhile, Google Pixel 2's release date is expected to be sometime in October. It is likely to be priced at around $650. The Pixel 2 would likely stand out when it comes to the camera as the current-gen Pixel handsets have been touted as "the best smartphone cameras ever made."
