Last year, Sony revealed that a new "God of War" was in the works. There hasn't been much news since the E3 2016 reveal, but there sure has been a lot of fan questions. According to the game director, it's proceeding well and we'll hear more very soon.

Answering to a fan's question on Twitter, "God Of War" director Cory Barlog stated that development is going well. The process has been defined as a daily emotional meat grinder, but Barlog is feeling very good about what they are doing.

Continuing to respond to fans on social media, Barlog answered whether the game will have a "BIG" level of narrative, saying that he "really only work[s] on games with a heavy narrative focus." The game director added that "[having a better lore than previous games in the series] is my goal, but all of you will really be the judge. This team is just damn incredible, though, so my confidence is high."

At one point, it was believed that "God Of War" would have multiplayer, so fans of the series' story will be glad to know that even if the game does offer content besides its single player campaign, the developer is still focused on having a strong narrative.

"God Of War" has been revealed, as already mentioned, at last year's E3. The game will be quite different from the previous entries in the series. Main character Kratos will be much older than before and will act as a mentor for his son Atreus. Some of the series' trademark elements will also be different, with additional RPG elements, a third person over the should camera and more, WCCF Tech reports.

The next entry in the "God of War" series has yet to receive a final release date for all regions, but it may release this September, according to a Portuguese retailer. Judging from an exchange with a fan, there's the chance that it might have already been set, as Barlog told a fan that he could but doesn't want to do so yet.

As per GameRant, with a date not known internally, it means it's also unlikely that the launch date will be confirmed during Sony E3 2017 press conference either. However, fingers are crossed that some fresh "God of War" gameplay will ultimately be revealed.
