"Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date is now pushed back further to 2018 instead of the anticipated launch this year. While this arrives as bad news, there is quite some good news that came in to please the fans about its development.

It appears that despite the further delay of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date next year, the voice actor who gives life to the game hero, Cloud Strife, took to his official Twitter account to announce that he is voicing again the main character in the game.

This announcement from Steve Burton himself does confirm the return of Cloud Strife. But fans might have already supposed that original voice actors will come back in the development of the remake.

This tweet from Burton has somehow assured fans that the development is truly making a smooth progress along the way. Perhaps, the announcement of the release window for "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" in Fiscal year 2018 and beyond is disappointing but the latest update coming from the voice actor comes a delight to fans. 

It is noted that Burton as been a favorite of Square Enix as he has worked on several projects of the renowned Japanese game developer. He has voiced Cloud Strife in game such as "Kingdom Hearts", "Dissidia, as well as "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7". The actor also voiced a character in the CGI movie, "Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children". 

In more news, speculations continue to spin around the net that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will be coming to Nintendo Switch, too. Recent reports claim that Square Enix will be teasing the title for Switch at E3 in June since Nintendo will be absent at the event. 

This, however, remains a pure speculation until the game developer confirms this piece of information. The game will be released as an exclusive title for Sony's PlayStation 4. 

It is already known from game director Tetsuya Nomura that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will introduce an action-based combat as opposed to the original title's command-based combat system. More details on the gameplay will be revealed soon, perhaps at E3, so, stay tuned.
