While many of us have used torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay, KickassTorrents and Torrentz, do you know how it works?

According to Tech Worm, it is important to first know what a "BitTorrent" is. BitTorrent is a protocol for P2P file sharing that is used for transferring large amounts of files or information over the Internet. The files could be video clips, TV shows or digital audio. BitTorrent could break down a large sum of files into smaller pieces.

Using torrent would allow users to get the original file, not just from the source, but from other users as well.

Torrent clients let users get files over the BitTorrent network. Popular torrent clients include uTorrent, BitLord, and Vuze. Once a torrent client has been selected, users would then add a torrent file to the BitTorrent client and put it on the drive.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that downloading some things from torrent clients is illegal. Also, sharing copyrighted content is illegal. While the programs used to share a file may not be illegal, the information being shared may not have been legally obtained.
