There are rumors that the HTC U 11 will outshine the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S8, although its features and specs have not yet officially revealed. Here is a comparison of the Galaxy S8 and HTC U 11 based on recent leaks.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has metal, glass, and all-screen design in front with slim bezels. It is also IP68 water and dust resistant.

The Galaxy S8 ditched the physical button. It has a home button located on the curved display, while the fingerprint sensor is placed at the glass rear next to the lens of the camera. There is also a dedicated button to launch Bixby on the left-hand side of the metal frame. The 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C both situated bottom.

On the other hand, the HTC U 11 is said to have a squeezable frame called "Edge Sense" with a shiny, capacitive button in front plus IP57 water and dust resistant.

The HTC U 11 will reportedly not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it will have a USB Type-C port. The exact size of the flagship has not yet been revealed, but some assume that it may be slightly smaller compared to the Galaxy S8.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a Quad HD+ resolution (2960 x 1440) and a 5.8-inch curved display to deliver a pixel density of 570 ppi. Samsung also opted for Super AMOLED for the S8 and Mobile HDR Premium to make HDR content more appealing like from Netflix.

The HTC U 11 will likely come with Quad HD resolution and a 5.5-inch display to deliver a pixel density of 534 ppi. However, it is still unclear whether HTC will use AMOLED for HTC U 11, or will stick to LCD like the HTC 10.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has optical image stabilization, 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, while the front-facing camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with aperture of f/1.7 and autofocus.

There have only been few rumors about the upcoming camera of HTC U 11. Some report says that it may come with an 8-megapixel front camera and 12-megapixel rear camera. Others also claim that it may likely arrive with a 16-megapixel front camera and 12-megapixel for the rear.

Hardware

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895, depending on the region. It has a variant of 64GB of internal memory with 4GB of RAM and microSD support up to 256GB.

For HTC U 11, it is rumored to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, and microSD support. However, there are no leaked details about its battery capacity.

Software

The Samsung Galaxy S8 runs on the Android Nougat and Samsung's TouchWiz software. The device also features Samsung's newest digital assistant, Bixby.

The HTC U 11 will run on the Android Nougat along with the HTC Sense Companion app, designed to use AI to help users just like Bixby.

The Galaxy S8 has several functions to make use of its curved display. Meanwhile, HTC U 11 is said to have a squeezable frame that will allow users to squeeze the frame to perform certain functions.
