The net worth of Bill Gates is projected to achieve another breakthrough. The billionaire may soon become a trillionaire as most experts suggested.

The current world's richest man, Gates, has a net value of $87 billion. Therefore making him as one of the eligible candidates of becoming the first trillionaire.

In a research conducted by the charity Oxfam, society is set to have its first trillionaire within the next 25 years, according to Independent. However, Bill Gates is not alone in the race, for Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos is just $5 billion dollars away from Gates' value.

Regardless the possibility of catching up, Gates remains the richest man in the world. To be more exact, Bloomberg Billionaires Index detailed that Bill Gate's current net worth is $87.2 billion dollars.

However, such achievement of becoming the first trillionaire may be thwarted by Gate's philanthropic activities. As experts would view it, the one thing preventing Gates from achieving trillionaire status is his generosity.

Such act of kindness by the world current richest man started after a significant experience in Africa. Back then, Gates tried to bring the computer to the impoverished areas of the said continent, wherein he saw first-hand the living condition of the people.

"I love this computer, and I thought it was neat and kids should have access, but they had to rig up a special generator so I could do this one demo. And they borrowed this generator. It wasn't going to be there when I left. So the idea that there was a hierarchy of needs ... While still believing in digital empowerment, that was not at the top of the list. That was pretty eye opening for me," Business Insider quoted Gates as saying.

With the current dominance of Microsoft in the tech industry and their continuous innovation, it would not be surprising for Gates to reach the trillionaire status. However, giving up such opportunity to help others is something more surprising, if not incomprehensible in the business world.
