Google Classroom

Google is opening up its Classroom service which allows anybody to make and educate a class on the platform.

Classroom, as indicated on its about page, is "a free web service for schools, non-profits, and anyone with a personal Google Account. Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect inside and outside of schools."

Classroom ought to prove to be useful for people who need to accomplish something beyond post instructional exercises on their online journals and YouTube channels. Users can include resources, post assignments and connect with students as they advance through lessons.  Google gives the option to create a classroom as well as join one. To join a classroom, you need to have a classroom id.

This is the second significant update to Classroom in 2017: a month ago, Google expanded the support of enabling anybody to join classes, without the requirement for a G Suite for Education account (which is typically made accessible by schools and colleges to their students).

The latest update ensures that Classroom is "available for personal Google Accounts-Homeschoolers, tutoring programs, lifelong learners, and others who aren't associated with a school can now use Classroom with a personal Google Account."

With this new service, Google does the job of bringing classroom home, which is quite welcome, since it is not always convenient for grown-ups to physically attend classes. With its exclusive features, Google ensures that the whole idea of getting an education become more and more convenient. It won't be a surprise if this project is picked up and spread quickly, because digitalization of education is the next big step towards making it available to everyone without a physical setup which takes physical assets, and also needs the learner to be physically present in the setting.

You can begin setting up your own class or by joining an existing class over on this page and learn more about this new venture here.
