Sergey Brin, Google's co-founder, is trying to build an airship in one of NASA's sheds at the Ames Research Center.

The airship supposedly resembles a dirigible and could be a pastime of the rich. It is one of Alphabet's - Google's parent company - biggest ventures.

According to Bloomberg, for quite some time Brin has been keen on airships. This, as far as anyone knows, started since he began going to the NASA research center situated near Alphabet Inc's location in Mountain View, California. He chose to assemble his own Zeppelin in the wake of seeing a photograph of the USS Macon, developed by the U.S. Naval force in the 1930s.

Google's Planetary Ventures assumed control over a portion hangars at Ames two years ago in 2015. It is in one of these that the previous chief of projects at NASA Ames Alan Weston is said to be heading Brin's pet venture. The group of specialists has reportedly been able to amass the metal components of the aircraft. In spite of the fact that it is only a skeleton, it is taking up quite a bit of storage space at this point.

It remains unclear whether the aircraft venture is Brin's private wander or a Google undertaking. The Verge noted that the Google fellow benefactor had nothing to say in regards to the attempt when questioned by the media.

Weston likewise declined to remark, but the former Air Force engineer once talked about the suitability of aircraft for transporting load. He said that it would possibly be more fuel-effective compared with planes. Moreover, the aircraft would be able to convey cargo to different areas as opposed to dropping them off at transport locations.

Numerous Silicon Valley companies have been attempting to manufacture airships for sometime now. Even Google X, the company's test arm, endeavored to make an airship cargo. But in 2016, Project Calcifer, as it was called, was dropped.
