OnePlus' highly anticipated next-gen flagship smartphone, possibly dubbed as OnePlus 5, has been making headlines. The upcoming flagship killer is expected to be launched in May or June 2017 and will hit the market in June or July 2017. Another, much-awaited device, the Google Pixel 2, is expected to be unveiled in October 2017 while Samsung's latest Galaxy S8 is one of the best-selling, powerful smartphones on the market right now.

OnePlus 5

The smartphone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch dual-curved edge AMOLED display, an FHD 1080p display resolution, dual-edged display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 alongside with the Adreno 540 GPU, 8GB RAM, a 3,000 mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone. The OnePlus 5 is said to have a ceramic body and sports a sleek design with slim bezels. In terms of camera, it is expected to feature a 23-megapixel dual-lens camera with optical image stabilization and a 16MP front snapper for selfies. The OnePlus 5 will run on the Android Nougat operating system out of the box and could be priced at $500.

Google Pixel 2

The Google Pixel 2 will flaunt an OLED display, curved with "Infinity Displays." The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 Pro SoC processor with 6GB of RAM. The next Google phone will be the first smartphone to be shipped with Android 8.0 or Android 0. Google is expected to go all out on the device's camera as the current Google Pixel and XL's camera has been well reviewed and tagged as one of the best cameras ever to date. It'll feature water resistant and Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0 with USB-C. The Pixel 2 is expected to sport 4K display, Daydream ready, and Quick Charge 4.0. The Google Pixel 2 might also come with a $50 price increase as the current 32GB Pixel phone price tag starts at $650.

Samsung Galaxy S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC in the US, and Exynos 8895 SoC for the international market, 4GB of RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage as well as microSD support. The device features a 12-megapixel "Dual Pixel" rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel front camera with autofocus. Under the hood is a 3000mAh battery which supports fast wireless charging. The Galaxy S8 runs on the Android Nougat and is priced between $750-$850 depending on the variant.
