Famed game director of "God of War" Cory Barlog has recently teased fans some quite exciting details surrounding the development of the newest title to the series. Also, speculations are rife that it could start a new game trilogy.

Santa Monica Studio already released demo for "God of War 4" back at E3 last year and most recently at PlayStation Experience back in December. However, the game's exact release date remains unconfirmed until now.

There has been various leaks that made the rounds online suggesting that the new title will finally hit shelves later this 2017. The first leaked release date was hinted by actor Christopher Judge who plays the new Kratos in "God of War" for PS4. The other was leaked by game retailer indicating a December 29 release date on its pre-order page.

While a number of online leaks turned out to be true for some video games, it is still best to wait for the official release details for the latest GOW game from Sony Interactive Entertainment or Barlog himself. Perhaps, the fated day is just creeping around the corner, especially that E3 2017 is fast approaching.

Meanwhile, Barlog has reportedly confirmed that the new "God of War" will spawn a new saga for the PS4 franchise. Another trilogy could be on the cards and for analysts and pundits, this makes a brilliant idea for the studio but it remains to be seen how this will all pan out later.

In the first trilogy, fans saw Kratos killed all the Norse Gods. Then, Barlog emphasized that fans of "God of War" series will continue to feature the Norse Mythology in future games.

It is said that Santa Monica Studio is eyeing for the release a new long-running saga hinting that more titles are planned in the developer's pipeline. So, reports claimed that new "God of War" will only be the beginning of new adventures for Kratos and his son.
