"Rise of The Tomb Raider" first story DLC "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" becomes an addition to the game's core plotline.

"Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" is a short story focused piece of Tomb Raider DLC that revolves on creepy supernatural elements, tough environmental puzzles, and exploring the complex relationship between Lara Croft and her father. Instead of human enemies, Croft faces antagonists such as ghosts, monsters, and spooky skeletons, according to Destructoid

The DLC places Lara in a forest presided over by the mythical Baba Yaga, a creature from Slavic folklore that lives in a cottage set atop a pair of giant chicken legs. It should add roughly three hours of new gameplay and is included in a Season Pass.

Gone are the enemies that make sense, replaced by ethereal tormentors. While these foes and obstacles are described as mechanically very similar to enemies in the base game, they feel very totally different in practice and work well to emphasize the game's narrative themes. The DLC concludes in an over the top awesome supernatural boss battle, which offers satisfying amounts of conclusion to the plot, and fairly impressive.

The gameplay in "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" remains unchanged from the main game. Its difficulty of environmental puzzles is nicely ramped up, paced for progression from the end of the base game. Completing it unlocks a new weapon that fits nicely with the themes of the DLC as a bonus, but the lack of any new post-game challenge tombs means very little incentive to try any new weapon out.

The latest DLC also comes with a new outfit and bow for Lara Croft. The expansion will be available for the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider as well. A new piece of art was also released, showcasing Crystal Dynamics' version of Baba Yaga's hut, which is depicted as a cabin sitting on top of chicken legs. A new character named Nadia was introduced, who is performed by "Borderlands" and "Life Is Strange" voice actress Ashly Burch.

"Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" is now available across Xbox One and Xbox 360. Players can get it either with the $30 Season Pass or as a standalone purchase for $10, Gamespot reported.

This newest DLC follows Rise of the Tomb Raider's first piece of DLC, Endurance mode, which was released at the end of 2015. There will be another expansion called Cold Darkness Awakened, which is due out later this year.
