Apple intends to make both a big leap and an iterative jump as far as the next iPhone is concerned. On its release date plan for September 2017, the tech giant will introduce the iPhone 7S series and the more exciting iPhone 8.

The iPhone 8, according to Apple Insider, will be packed with technologies that not necessarily Apple has invented but certainly the company has nudged into near-perfection. Speculations are rife the device will be the first from Cupertino to sport an OLED display panel, the use of which will render an all-screen front profile that perhaps will be similar to the Infinity Display that Samsung has unpacked with the Galaxy S8.

Analysts have predicted the iPhone 8's display will measure 5.8-inch but thanks to Apple's engineering the form-factor will be close to that of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7. And out of the nearly six-inch display, only 5.1-inch was programmed as actually usable for touchscreen purposes, the rest, Apple Insider said, will have to accommodate the virtual keys, which in some reports have been dubbed as invisible control buttons.

With the screen bezels largely out of the way, it is believed too that Apple engineers made use of the recovered space to make room for a larger battery. This indicates that the iPhone 8 will likely boast of the longest battery life among the 2017 models.

The same report also mentioned the inclusion of 3D facial recognition as one of the next iPhone killer features but one thing that would make the iPhone 8 a game-changer is the possible addition of augmented reality or AR functionalities. Such will be the biggest selling point of the device and should justify its rumored asking price of over $1000, Apple Insider said.

As for the iPhone 7S series, which will be the regular model and the iOS phablet iPhone 7S Plus, the devices are expected to represent an iterative improvement from the iPhone 6S in terms of build and design. But the components inside will be nothing short of impressive - headlined by the A11 processing chip with supposedly 4GB of RAM support. The latter will be seen across the board if the latest supply chain chatter is to be believed.

And the real star of the 2017 iPhone release - involving the iPhone 7S series and iPhone 8 - is iOS 11 that Apple will introduce at the start of the WWDC 2017 on June 5. Launch date is seen to commence on September but analysts have predicted the iPhone 8 will not ship out until October or November this year.
