The next iPhone release will boast of 3GB RAM support that will apply to all three new models - the iPhone 8, the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus. The devices will also feature quick charging thanks to the use of USB Type-C power delivery on the Lightning connectors, a new report said.

But it is the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 that will deliver the longest operating hours as MacRumors reported that the handset will unbox "with two packs of batteries," though it was not specified how exactly the feature upgrade will be implemented considering the device's rear panel is not expected to be peeled off.

The MacRumors report pointed to the latest research note from Cowen & Company as source of information.

The iPhone 8 and the iPhone 7S series being bumped up to 3GB of RAM support is certainly good news as the devices can surely handles multiple tasks a lot easier. For instance, the increased RAM provision will make for faster web page loading whereas in the older iPhone models previously viewed pages will have to be refreshed when pulled up anew by users.

Faster charging time is also something new that long-time iPhone users will experience. If true that the next iPhone will juice up faster than usual, the USB Type-C technology that will be embedded with the Lightning port is likely to be supported by a souped up mobile charger or "high-amperage power bricks as bundled accessories," as suggested by WCCFTech in a related report.

The next iPhone with quick charging feature is in line with the earlier prediction from Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities - that all 2017 modes will "have Lightning connectors with USB Type-C Power Delivery for faster charging," MacRumors said.

As for the higher RAM that will be seen across the board for the 2017 iPhone rollout, the same report took note that 3GB RAM was first seen with the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus last year so essentially it is the 4.7-inch model that will get the most out of the memory boost.

The Cowen & Company note also predicted that Apple will continue to offer the iPhone 7S series in storage configurations of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB with the possibility of maintaining the starting price of $649 for the iPhone 7S and $769 for the iPhone 7S Plus.

The same report, however, is convinced that the all-screen and OLED-laced iPhone 8 will only unpack in 128GB and 256GB options with the asking price likely to breach the $1000 mark.
