Ford Designs a High-Tech Crib That Simulates car Rides for Babies [WATCH]

Ford has found a way to help babies get a snooze through the night with a crib that mimics everything that makes it easy to fall asleep during a long car ride.

According to The Verge, the crib called the Max Motor Dreams simulates a long car ride experience including the repetitive passing patterns, subtle vibrations, and the hum of the engine. Unfortunately, it is only designed for babies.

The crib, from Ford Spain designers, contains LED lights that replicate street lights while speakers underneath the crib can create muffled engine sounds. Also underneath the crib are mechanicals that creates a gentle vibration to mimic a ride in the backseat.

Interestingly, it also comes with an app that can record a night time drive including your car's unique sounds and tries to reproduce the movements from your route on your baby's smart crib.

Only one Max Motor Dreams crib has reportedly been produced so far and Ford is yet to release its pricing information. A lucky winner, however, can have a chance to get the prototype crib from Ford España's sweepstakes during a test drive of the Ford Max.

RoadShow reported that the crib was designed by a certain Alejandro López Bravo.

"After many years of talking to mums and dads, we know that parents of newborns are often desperate for just one good night's sleep. But while a quick drive in the family car can work wonders in getting baby off to sleep, the poor old parents still have to be awake and alert at the wheel," he said.

Ford is said to have only built one of the smart cribs to test the waters. The company will consider putting the Max Motor Dreams crib into production after sampling market demand.
