Android has recently been very lucky after it became more popular than Windows worldwide. The information came upon a major web traffic tool from an Irish market measuring company.

The report suggested that this is the first time ever that Android has surpass over Windows since the 1980's. The statistics are vastly based on aggregate data that was collected from 3 million websites.

This is not essentially the first time that StatCounter has predicted changing trends. The tool had a provocative take on two of the world's most popular web browsers. The tool presented that Chrome had already outdone the Internet Explorer in terms of popularity.

The growing numbers of Android users may be a possible reason in the changing of trend. In its official statement, StatCounter said that Microsoft is not anymore the owner of the most dominant OS, Android is now the world's most popular OS in the field of internet usage.

The new information about Android has taken over Windows dominance which they held for almost 37 years. What's more important was how Android broke through the graphs. Five years ago, the smartphone OS just held only 2.4% of global internet usage.

Besides Android's breakthrough that rocketed up the charts, there is one more trend in the mill. In the same analysis tool report, the Microsoft Edge browser is currently losing much of its share of usage. The Windows browser is losing its significance since the Google Chrome took its place 5 years ago.

According to the gathered data, from 3.68% of browser's share in the month of February to 3.64% in March. It may be a small of dip, things might take a severe turn in the future as Chrome is day by day getting popular.
