The AMD Ryzen 5 was just recently spotted, leaving a lot of speculations on whether how will it fare against its competitor the Intel i5 series. One YouTube user got the chance to get hold of the chip before AMD releases it next week to give fans a look on how it performs.

The YouTuber compared three different CPUs which is the Intel i5-7400, the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 at regular clock speed and overclocked to 3.8GHz, and the Pentium G4560. The computer used the HIS Radeon RX 480 video card and 8GB DDR 2133MHz RAM to execute the tests.

Unsurprisingly, the Pentium G4560 chip did very poorly as it rigorously lags behind the two. The entry-level CPU does not give much competition to anything because it is only suggested for those who have no budget.

What's interesting is the performance between the Intel i5 and AMD Ryzen 5. Both used a few heavy titles like "Fallout 4," "GTA 5," and "The Witcher 3." The two chips strived in terms of fps, which gives a clear idea on how fine they work.

According to the video below, when not overclocked, the Intel i5 performs better compared to the AMD Ryzen 5. However, AMD's chipset sometimes surpasses its competitor when overclocked.

Still, it is not a convincing review as the lack of firmware update and other factors affect the AMD Ryzen 5's performance. The CPU also stumbles upon issues like overheating and low RAM speed. Fans will have yet to find out if these problems will occur at the chip's launch.

Even so, the AMD Ryzen 5 is still a great deal for many people. It costs $169 and is considerably cheaper compared to its competitor, the Intel i5-7400 which goes for $202.

There are four Ryzen 5 chips that are going to be released next week. The Ryzen 5 1600X costs $249 and has a higher base clock which makes it expensive. All of AMD's chipset will be widely available on April 11.
