The iMac is getting refreshed this year and several reports have surfaced regarding its specs. The most recent talk is that Apple is bringing the Pro brand to the all-in-one computer, and it will have an increase in performance and storage.

Apple already has the iPad Pro and the MacBook Pro, and now it is set to launch an iMac Pro. The Cupertino-based company on Tuesday revealed its plans to revamp the line by adding another configuration that will cater to the professional sector.

Like the Pro versions of other Apple gadgets, the 2017 iMac Pro will have better performance and more features than the regular ver. Apple has not yet disclosed what exactly the configuration of the Pro version will be, but it said that touchscreen would not be part of it.

"Touch doesn't even register on the list of things pro users are interested in talking about," Senior Vice President Phil Schiller said in an interview with BuzzFeed News. "They're interested in things like performance and storage and expandability."

Whatever it would be, the newest addition to the lineup is expected to make an appearance later this year. The upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June is a nice stage for the iMac Pro, but MacWorld has noted that it is likely to be released in September or October.

Whenever the iMac Pro arrives, it could have an Intel Kaby Lake processor. A leak in 2016 confirmed that its specs would include 32GB of RAM and a 2TB Fusion Storage. This set-up will reportedly cost about $3,199.99.

It could also have a USB Type-C port, which was also included in the 2016 MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, the Touch Bar may not arrive on the desktop computer.

As of now, though, there is not much information known about the next batch of iMac. More details about it and the 2017 iMac Pro are expected to be released in the coming months.
