Xiaomi Mi6 Rumors: 5 Ways Xiaomi Mi6 Will Easily Beat Samsung Galaxy S8

The chief mission for upcoming Android flagships is to beat the Samsung Galaxy S8, which exactly is the intention packed with the soon-to-release Xiaomi Mi6. If the leaked details and specs so far on the latter handset are to be believed then the chance is quite high that Xiaomi's bet will emerge the winner over the GS8.

And there are at least five ways the Mi6 could prove the better device:

Gorgeous front display

Already unboxed, both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus stunned with display screens that eliminate the left and right bezels. The screaming GS8 display nearly occupies the entire front panel and thin breaks can only be seen on the top portion and bottom chin of the device.

It would be a tough feat for the competition to beat Samsung's first 2017 flagship models in this respect but Xiaomi from China is betting on the Mi6 to do the trick. According to WCCFTech, the Mi6 will boast of a higher screen-to-body ratio when pitted against the GS8. This claim is supported by freshly leaked images of the device with one showing the Mi6 with no left, right and bottom bezels. The only break seen on the front panel is the slim strip on the top portion where the front camera lens and speaker grill will be found.

The featured images were first published Chinese-language blog site MyDrivers, the report said.

Dual camera with bumped up specs

From the Galaxy S7 to the GS8, Samsung has elected not to apply significant enhancements. But the Xiaomi Mi6 plans to impress with its dual camera package that WCCFTech said is "configured vertically instead of horizontally," and the setup will allow the capturing of high-quality images, specifically minimizing the likelihood blurred pictures.

And the Mi6 shooter is built to easily overwhelm the competition - 19MP rear and 8MP front combo for the regular model, and 12MP rear and 8MP front for the Mi6 Plus.

SD 835 and 6GB RAM

Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be powered by Qualcomm's 14nm Snapdragon 835 SoC but for now these editions seem to be exclusive for the U.S. market. The rest of the world will be getting Samsung's in-house Exynos 8895 chip.

But not in the case of the Xiaomi Mi6 as WCCFTech said in a separate report that when the flagship is outed, the main engine will be solely the SD 835 and supported by up to 6GB of RAM. The GS8 will only see maximum of 4GB RAM support.

Massive batteries

With the GS8's glorious display screen and powerful specs and features, it's highly doubtful that the 3000mAh and 3500mAh battery packs found, respectively, on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will last a day in one charge.

More likely, it is the Xiaomi Mi6 that will boast of an extended battery life. The regular Mi6 is said to get a 3200mAh battery while the Mi6 Plus will be packing a giant power juicer of 4500mAh.

Pricing

On release date this April 21, the Galaxy S8 will sell starting at $720. In comparison, it is expected that the Xiaomi will stick to its flagship pricing model with the Xiaomi Mi6. And that means the device on its rumored May 2017 release date will be relatively cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S8 despite the latter likely to out-specced.
