The Apple iPad Air 3 is expected to arrive with newer features such as 4K display, 4 GB of RAM, four speakers and rear-facing camera.

The Apple iPad Air 3 currently under the wraps but it is expected to get unleashed in March this year. The Cupertino-based company is expected to reveal second generation Apple Watch as well as the iPhone 5se, a 4-inch smartphone at the upcoming March event.

The iPad Air 3 will continue to feature a 9.7-inch display like the predecessor models. The iPad Air 2 that was released in October 2014 carried support for 1536 x 2048 pixels. The rumor mill claims that its successor will carry support for either 4096 x 3072 pixels or 3840 x 2880 pixels. It will deliver an aspect ratio of 4:3, Phone Arena reported.

The display of the upcoming tablet from Apple will not be carrying support for 3D Touch technology. The inclusion of a high resolution screen on the iPad Air 3 would certainly impact the battery performance of the device. Hence, it is also expected to feature an improved battery.

The tablet will be powered by Apple A9X chipset. It will be supported by 4 GB of RAM. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is equipped with a set of four speakers. The iPad Air 3 is also rumored to house quad speakers. Since iPads are often used for watching movies, the Apple iPad Air 3 with its multiple speakers will enhance the movie watching experience.

The Apple iPad Air 2 came with 8 MP camera and its successor is also expected to feature a same megapixel camera. However, speculations indicate that Apple will include a rear-facing flash for iPad Air 3's main camera.

The iPad Air 3 will be thinner and lighter than the predecessor model. The tablet will not be featuring 16 GB storage edition but will launch with 32 GB model as its lowest storage variant.

The sales of iPad have fallen considerably in the past few years. It is mainly because Apple did not release an iPad Air tablet in the previous year. Market analysts are of the view that iPad Air 3's arrival will help in improving iPad sales, 9 to 5 Mac reported. As far as the iPad Air 3 release date is concerned, it will be first showcased in March and will be available for purchase within the second quarter of this year.
