"Call of Duty 2017" developer Sledgehammer remains silent about the new game but gamers are taking hints from job adverts.

According to the Express, Sledgehammer is actively hiring new members of the team to work on the upcoming "Call of Duty" game, which is said to be set during World War II. The developer's job posts reveal a few clues on its future direction.

One job advert, for instance, states that the developer is looking for an experienced game Sound Designer to help create a "fresh new AAA aural experience" who will be involved in game audio content development.

Another job post detailed that a successful candidate would be in charge of the second-to-second experiences in the game while another advert is looking for someone to assist in creating realistic next-gen textures and materials for use in architecture and terrain. He or she would be expected to "model and texture realistic, modular, hard-surface and organic set pieces and props for a diverse set of environments."

Gamers are looking forward to the launch of "Call of Duty 2017," but Activision has not released an official date yet.

TechAdvisor reported that latest rumors are saying that the game will be most likely announced next month. "Why? It's based mainly on the previous Call of Duty announcements, with 2016's Infinite Warfare being announced in May, while 2015's Black Ops 3 had an April announcement," it said.

TechAdvisor, however, assumed that "Call of Duty 2017" will either be revealed before or during the E3 2017 between 13-15 June.

In terms of release date, TechAdvisor believes it is going to be at some point during the first week of November as it takes a cue from previous releases.  "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," for instance, was released on November 4, 2016 while "Black Ops 3" went live on November 6, 2015.
