On the other hand, a great deal of Twitter users seem to like a red iPhone 7 concept with back front offered up by designer Benjamin Geskin. The concept image has been retweeted 288 times.

Cult of Mac, which described the concept "absolutely amazing," said that it hopes the tech giant should take it to heart for future red versions of its product range.

9to5Mac reported that Geskin's concept has even caught the attention of popular YouTube video blogger Marques Brownlee.

9to5Mac said that one major turnoff of the new red iPhone 7 with a white front is that it closely resembles the red iPod touch.

"I have to agree, I don't love the idea of spending $800+ on an iPhone and having such a similar aesthetic to an iPod," wrote Michael Potuck of 9to5mac adding that there are there are many people who just prefer to stick with a black front no matter what color the enclosure is.

The red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will go on sale on Friday, March 24. This is the first time Apple has released a red version of iPhone.

There were no major updates to the internal components on the red iPhone 7. It comes only with a 128GB option. The red 128GB iPhone 7 costs $749 while the iPhone 7 Plus will set you back $869.
