Apple iOS 9.3 is more than the regular incremental release, boasting some significant changes to the stock apps in the operating system.

The first beta of iOS 9.3 is now available for download. Since then, one feature that has drawn more attention from users and reviewers alike is dubbed as the Night Shift by Apple. This specific feature can enable people to get lulled to sleep after using any of the iOS devices.

Depicting the Night Shift feature, as per ZDNet, users will surely love this addition; although, its benefits are not quite obvious such as the capacity to password protect Notes, which is also launching on iOS 9.3. People who have been utilizing the beta version can compare the Night Shift feature with other mobile devices. Though some may not have it, but it is proven that it can be very restful to the eyes.

The Night Shift is one of the most important features that Apple is bringing to its iOS 9.3. The clock is checked on the handset, and then works to minimize the blue light displayed on screens at nighttime. It then substitutes it with a color, similar to those in the red portion of a spectrum. The minimizing of blue light is proven by scientific studies to trigger more production of melatonin, which causes people to sleep once they are done using their mobile device at night.

Furthermore, 9to5Mac says the Night Shift feature can be modified from the control center using two options: Turn On Till Tomorrow and Turn On For Now. These options are visible on Apple's website, even though they are not visible on the iOS preview page for the U.S. These may however be available in the next beta release.

Users have been using the same feature for their Mac, Linux or Window devices up till now. All these they owe to f.lux, which is responsible for minimizing the blue light at night. As for Android devices, they can utilize other apps such as Twilight to obtain a similar effect.
