Jailbreaking Still Possible So Downgrade Now from iOS 10.3 and 10.2.1 – Here’s How

Luca Todesco appears to be refocusing his attention from finalizing his Yalu102 jailbreak tool to providing a crack on the upcoming iOS 10.2 release. There is a chance that iOS security researcher will come up with a separate solution he dubbed as JBMe102 or JailbreakMe.

When completed, JBMe102 will mainly resolve the 7-day signing issue that bugs both the Yalu102 jailbreak and Team Pangu's last jailbreak release - the semi-tethered 9.2-9.3.3. In his latest Twitter posting, Todesco said "JBMe102 may become a thing when 10.3 gets released."

According to Forbes, it can be assumed that work on JBMe102, which is browser-based, is already underway and will likely be completed soon after Apple's deployment of iOS 10.3. But it's unclear if Todesco means to base the jailbreak tool on the upcoming iOS version or will it be the finalized build of the Yalu102 jailbreak solution.

It's somehow intriguing that Todesco would wait first for the official iOS 10.3 release, which should be happening anytime soon as the OS is already on beta 7 version. Forbes said the Italian hacker has two possible reasons for the timing of the new jailbreak release and one is he has decided to move from version 10.2, found an exploit on version 10.3 and opted to finalize the jailbreak on the latest build.

Or Todesco would want to get 10.3 first and dig deep to check if the exploit he has been working on got patched by the same version release. The same report suggested that the latter is the more likely scenario.

And that is like saying that in the event of a JBMe102 release, the tool will only work on iOS 10.2. To make sure that jailbreak fans can access the solution once it becomes available, Forbes highly recommends sticking to version 10.2 or Yalu102. As for those who already made the jumped to iOS 10.2.1, their way in can only be provided by Todesco.

Either the dev can point to a workaround, possibly a downgrade tool similar to Prometheus, or he can make JBMe102 compatible too with iPhones and iPads running on iOS 10.2.1 or even version 10.3.

However, a jailbreak to crack iOS 10.3 seems a remote possibility as Todesco himself is convinced that with the File System APFS for implementation with the OS version, jailbreaking is nearly next to impossible.
