A retro iPhone 7 plus inspired by the vintage Apple Macintosh has just been launched, and the cost is twice as much.
According to The Verge, Minnesota-based gadget company Colorware released a limited edition iPhone 7 on Thursday, March 16 that features a repainted cover in 1980's beige, complete with darker stripes meant to resemble the vents on older computers. The monochrome Apple logo on the back is also replaced with one in classic and iconic rainbow stripes.

"'Painting the past is back!' If you love the vintage look of the original 1980's Mac then why not have it on your phone!," Colorware said on its website.
Colorware has also released other retro-styled Apple gear in the past such as a MacBook, MacBook Air, iMac, and iPhone 6s. The company will make the iPhone 7 available only in an unlocked 256GB model for $1,899.
The price of Colorware's iPhone 7 is almost twice of Apple's $969 price tag for the phone. It is almost on par with original Macintosh price tag of $2,495 when it went out in 1984.
Buyers will have to wait for two to three weeks before the retro iPhone 7 Plus is shipped to their doorsteps.
Colorware has revealed more information about the customization process to MacRumors.
"At ColorWare, the product goes through a labor-intensive process of disassembly, cleaning, masking, painting and inspection. Then, the product is buffed and reassembled. The product goes through final inspection and is packaged in the original packaging," MacRumors stated.
According to Colorware, the device will be available for a limited time only, and the first 25 sold will include a number of authenticities.
The retro iPhone 7 Plus comes with ear pods, USB power adopter, lightning to USB cable, and manuals.
