Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun has confirmed the news that the Mi Mix's successor is coming soon. The Chinese company is reportedly collaborating with French designer Philippe Starck to build the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. Starck also helped in developing the concept of the first Mi Mix phone.

The new smartphone will reportedly sport a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is higher than Xiaomi Mi Mix which has a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The phone's render shows a stunning and nearly bezel-less design with a curved and ultra-thin design with at least 6.2-inch QHD+ display. It is also possible that the phone will have a 6.4-inch 2K display as indicated in a separate set of specs rumors.

Furthermore, the front of the screen shows no physical button feature. So, needless to say, the latest handset will likely sport an on-screen fingerprint sensor system that is now common among high-end smartphones.

Also, similar mobile phones released this year, the Mi Mix 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor. The new smartphone model is also expected to have a dual camera with IP68 certification.

As for the release date, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will most possibly hit the shelves around the fourth quarter of 2017 if the company follows the same timeline as last year's Mi Mix, which launched in October.
