It's likely that Luca Todesco's Yalu iOS 10.2 jailbreak will not get a sequel anytime soon as the jailbreak scene appears to be running out of talent lately with well-known developers either dropping out or moving on to do better things. The latest exit is that of iOS security researcher Jonathan Zdziarski, who now works for Apple.

Zdziarski, according to iDownloadBlog.com, goes by the handle "NerveGas" in the jailbreak world and is widely regarded an expert in digital privacy and forensics. The dev recently announced his decision to join Apple and continue on his advocacy as guardian for online security and privacy.

The same report indicated that NerveGas is now part of Apple's Security Engineering and Architecture team and his own capacity will work on a cause close to him - privacy. "Privacy is sacred. Our digital lives can reveal so much about us-our interests, our deepest thoughts and even who we love," Zdziarski was quoted by iDB as saying in a statement.

In a related report, WCCFTech described Zdziarski as fiercely passionate about the sanctity of privacy and security. The report noted that the dev figured prominently during the Apple-FBI controversy and voiced out his bias for the protection of online privacy no matter the cause.

In his many battles that highlight the importance of privacy and security, Zdziarski did not back out in criticizing authorities and entities, Apple including, he deemed unsupportive or reckless on the topic he is passionate about. For instance, "he's never shied away from slamming Apple over iOS security flaws and vulnerabilities," iDB said on its report.

The report likewise took note that seemingly as part of his transition in becoming an Apple employee, Zdziarski has deactivated the Twitter account he used while engaging in the jailbreak scene. Most likely, the move will signal his exit from the world that also saw the silent departures of Team Evad3rs Team Pangu and TaiG - the groups responsible for some of the recent jailbreak tool releases.

These devs moving to better places only highlights the gradual thinning of talents still available or willing to contribute to the jailbreak cause. And recently, Yalu creator Luca Todesco has revealed plans to take a break from jailbreaking once his work iOS 10.2 jailbreak has been completed.

The hint somehow indicated that with the release of a finalized iOS 10.2 jailbreak, it will trigger the end of the jailbreaking era.
