Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Dell XPS 2013 have surprised tech markets all over the world by emerging as the best laptops of 2015.

Microsoft recently released the upgraded models of its flagship Surface Book and Surface Pro devices. The tech giant has introduced more powerful models for both devices which will now have a variant with 1TB local storage space and a powerful Intel Core i7 processor.

Many tech analysts consider the integration of the Nvidia discrete graphics card as a major game changer as it will make the Surface Book more appealing to a lot of customers, especially in the gaming community. Having a powerful Core i7 processor partnered with a decent Nvidia graphics card makes the Surface Book an excellent choice for gamers who are looking for a mobile system to satisfy their gaming needs.

On the other hand, the new Surface Pro 4 model costs $2,699 and features the same hardware specifications as the Surface Book except for the option discrete graphics card, according to Gadget Review.

The new models of the Surface Book and Surface Pro are currently available for order in the United States and Canada. Microsoft has yet to confirm whether the devices will make its way to other regions.

The Surface Book is exclusively available for online purchases via the Microsoft Store and a handful of selected retailers. The Surface Pro 4 will be available in physical Microsoft stores and selected retailers as well.

On top of the upgrades made with the Surface Book and Surface Pro, Microsoft is also releasing the new Surface Pen gold edition. The pen will be released in the US, Canada, Finland, Denmark, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Norway, Sweden and Spain, according to NDTV.

The premium tablet industry accounts to only a small fraction of the whole tech market. However, consumers in the premium niche are among the most dedicated customers and this is the market that Microsoft wants to tap with the release of its latest line of devices.

Although the market is dominated by big names like Apple, Microsoft also has a fighting chance of taking a serious piece of the action with its latest models of the Surface Book and Surface Pro.
