Microsoft will reportedly commence rolling out the Windows 10 Creators (codenamed Redstone 2) Update on April 11, setting off speculations that immediately following will be the Surface Pro 5 release date.

Pointing to Microsoft insiders as sources for the latest information, MSPowerUser reported that "the Windows 10 Creators Update rollout will get kicked off on the 11th of April." And prior to going live, the same big Windows update will get signed off anytime next week with Microsoft likely to confirm the actual release date of the OS bump before the end of March, the report added.

The claim appears to stand on solid ground as the same publication noted that by this time, Microsoft has turned its attention on Redstone 3 or the next big jump for Windows 10 that likely will arrive on October or November 2016. So pretty much, Creators is all set to go.

And the same goes for the showcase device that is believed will be optimized for the new features packed with the updated Windows 10 - the Surface Pro 5. The SP5 was thought to be introduced by Microsoft via the recently concluded MWC 2017 but the 2-in-1 device skipped the event, further fueling speculations on when exactly the hybrid will drop.

In a related report, Phone Arena said the likely time frame for the Surface Pro 5 debut is between April and May, which fits with the scheduled Windows 10 Update rollout mentioned above. If the plan indeed is for the SP5 to show off the new things that the Creators Update can offer then the device is likely to hit the market shortly after the OS bump.

As for the improvements to expect from the SP4 to the Surface Pro 5, rumors say 4K UHD screen resolution and a refreshed Surface Pen with magnetic charging capabilities are in the cards. But most importantly, the SP5 unveiling will mark the introduction of Microsoft's visual design language known for now as Neon.

Neon, according to Phone Arena, is planned for implementation across all Microsoft-operated platforms.

The Surface Pro 5 on release date will be powered by Intel Kaby Lake processor and a Windows 10 further enhanced by the Creators Update rollout.
