A famous actress could be added to the cast of "Death Stranding," and she is no less than "La La Land's" Emma Stone. Stone might star in Hideo Kojima's game as a female protagonist alongside lead Norman Reedus.

This speculation is anchored on Hideo Kojima teasing a female lead that would play as the female protagonist alongside lead Norman Reedus. That was back in September last year.

According to Kojima's fans, the game creator has tweeted many times about Stone, and mostly about "La La Land." But this might not be enough to link the Hollywood star to the project.

Recently, Mads Mikkelsen, who is another character in the game, commented on this rumor, IBTimes reported. During the Saudi Comic-Con last month, when Mikkelsen was asked about this ongoing buzz that Emma Stone is involved in the project, the villain in "Dr. Strange" film neither denied nor confirmed her casting.

"I can't talk about that, but I really like that rumor. That's a lovely rumor," he said, according to Game Rant.

In addition, there are also talks about Kevin Durand and Idris Elba joining the cast for undisclosed roles. With Elba's role in fantasy films such as "Thor," "Star Trek Beyond," and the upcoming "The Dark Tower" movie adaptation, he is suited for this kind of project.

Three other actresses were named in the rumor mill aside from Stone. They are the Dutch actress Stefanie Joosten, who is currently based in Japan, Alison Brie from the TV show "Community" and Krysten Ritter of "Jessica Jones."

"Death Stranding" is expected to come out next year to PS4, but some reports indicate a possible release of the game to Windows PC.
