The celebration of International Women's Day on Wednesday was made even festive by women activists who wish to get their message across. This generation marks the emergence of women who are fighting for the rights of the next generation's right to equal opportunity, fair wages, gender equality and human rights.

The online community also went on to launch the #ADayWithoutAWoman movement that aims to make aware of the role of women in the society. As part of the International Women's Day celebration, women all over the world joined together and wore something red to work as a protest to those who are oblivious of the women's role in the society as well as make their voices heard.

Seven women who refuse to stay at home on International Women's Day shared their thoughts and aspirations on Glamour. One of them mentioned that she's the daughter of an immigrant worker and she fights for equality. An acknowledgement that the U.S is rich because of the contributions of Native Americans, immigrants, Mexicans and African American people.

Ugandan artist and activist Leilah Babirye, a gay activist who's currently seeking assylum in the country said, she fights for equality after being discriminated, disowned and isolated by her own family. "We need the people here to support refugees more, to protect us."

Celebrities also took part in the International Women's Day celebration, posting their messages on twitter with the hashtag #InternationalWomensDay and #ADayWithoutAWoman. In the official website of the International Women's Day celebration, the tag #BeBoldForAChange is being advertised as part of the women's campaign to be heard.

The description says "For International Women's Day 2017, we're asking you to #BeBoldForChange Call on the masses or call on yourself to help forge a better working world - a more inclusive, gender equal world."
