Apple has just seeded beta 5 of iOS 10.3 to developers, which indicates that the final build of the version is nearing completion but iOS 10.2 jailbreak is yet to be finalized. As hope dims that the jailbreak solution will become easily usable and more stable, news came out that 32-bit iPhones and iPads have a new jailbreak opening.

In a report, iDownloadBlog.com said a new tool is in the works and once completed it will pave the way for more iPhones and iPads to be jailbroken. The main use of the downgrade tool is for "32-bit devices to downgrade from iOS 9.3.5 to any other iOS 9 firmware without a jailbreak, provided you have blobs for the destination firmware." And after the step back, the key is turned for jailbreak possibilities.

Reportedly involved in the collaboration are known jailbreak developers like alitek12, ee_csw and Trevor Schmitt, and all promised that once the tool is released old iPhones and iPads that got stuck on iOS 9.3.5 will be liberated. Then the next step is to jump to a lower firmware for possible jailbreaking.

To be clear, the solution is not designed for 64-bit devices so owners of iPhone 5S and later models will not benefit from the tool. And jailbreaking is only possible provided one has saved blobs for a chosen firmware.

For example, an iPhone 5, according to iDB, that now runs on iOS 9.3.5 can be downgraded to version 9.0.2 using the tool. The device will then be ready for the untethered Pangu9 jailbreak solution. There are many possibilities for specific 32-bit iOS devices but one thing is clear - the tool is heaven-sent for jailbreak fans limited by Apple's iOS 9.3.5.

But the same is not the case with the 64-bit bunch or those on iPhone 5S and up as many still wait for Luca Todesco to finalize his Yalu jailbreak tool or for Team Pangu to finally break radio silence and serve their own version of the iOS 10.2 jailbreak.

Apple, however, deploying beta 5 of iOS 10.3 this week is like saying that it is still winning the race against jailbreak makers. Soon enough, version 10.3 will become official and the focus will be trained next to iOS 11, and the speed of Apple's recent moves only highlight the truth that jailbreaking with iOS 10.xx has become even more impossible.
