OnePlus is rumored to be working on the successor of OnePlus 3T, the alleged OnePlus 5 (aka. OnePlus 4). A new teaser image from OnePlus suggests that the company is hinting is next flagship phone.

Since the company had introduced the OnePlus 3 in June 2016 and its upgraded version, the OnePlus 3T in December 2016, the next device is expected to launch as OnePlus 4. However, the China-based company has reportedly skipped the number four in the name of its next flagship and instead used the number five. The reason behind it is that the number four indicates bad omen in China.

The OnePlus 5 smartphone is speculated to feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED dual-edge display with quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is pegged to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset.

The OnePlus phone is likely to come packed with 8 GB of RAM. It is expected to come in internal storage options of 64 GB and 128 GB. The phone is rumored to sport a feature a dual camera setup of 25-megapixel and a front-facing snapper of 12-megpaixel, Gizbot reported.

The OnePlus 5 smartphone is expected to come with IP68 certified chassis which means the device will be resistant to dust and water. It is likely to run on Android 7.0 Nougat and also come with other features like iris scanner, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port.

It is expected to come equipped with 4,000 mAh or 4,100 mAh capacity battery. The phone is said to include USB Type-C port. Some reports claim that the OnePlus 5 phone will have ceramic body. As far as release date is concerned, it is speculated to launch by the end of second quarter of this year.  

A new OnePlus wallpaper shared by leakster @evleaks contains the company's signature words "Never Settle." Speculations have it that the company is hinting the arrival of its next flagship or it may launch a new color variant of OnePlus 3T soon, Phone Arena reported.
