Apple iPhone 7 2016 Release Date Will Deliver Phablet 7 Plus With 256GB Memory, Bigger Battery – Report

It might be that the iPhone 7 on release date is packed with game-changing features, among them a super-slim build profile, but the device is likely to ditch a number of the standard features found on earlier models. The next iPhone will be free of the traditional 3.5mm audio jack while the battery could be smaller than the last version, reports said.

Instead of the wired sound connection, the upcoming iPhone will rely on Bluetooth connectivity, BGR said in a new report, adding that the device is likely to unbox with a proprietary listening accessory that will be sold separately. This latest development came from supply sources in Asia, where Apple's flagship phone is assembled.

The same design revision is also seen to render the 6S sequel the thinnest iPhone to hit the market but with one huge caveat - the battery capacity is likely to take a hit. The energy juice packed with the device could be significantly lower compared to the previous models, the report suggested.

Apple design guru Jony Ive, BGR said, "is reportedly dead-set on making the iPhone 7 the thinnest smartphone Apple has ever released." But the plan will inevitably make obsolete some of the traditional features found on the earlier iPhones.

In order to shave off significant amount of thickness from the last build, it was reported that the 3.5mm audio jack was marked for retirement from the new iPhone blueprint. And the new design could also mean a slight compromise - an iPhone 7 battery pack that is a tad smaller than that found on the iPhone 6S.

It should be noted, however, that a smaller battery rating on the iPhone 7 will not necessarily shorten the device's operating hours relative to the iPhone 6S. Tweaks will be likely applied by Apple engineers specifically on how the behavior of both the A10 chip and iOS 10 - the duo rumored to power the next iPhone - that will make them more powerful and faster but with more efficient use of energy.

On release date, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are rumored too to boast of higher storage capacity or up to 256GB of on-board memory, sapphire screen protection, water-proofing features and wireless charging. Launch time of the 2016 iPhones is predicted to happen as early as July this year.
