Elite Dangerous Horizons expansion 2.3 adds camera suites, asteroid bases in different space locations, exoplanets, tons of fixes and tweaks and a lot more! The update went live on Tuesday at around 4PM GMT, which also adds "New mysterious things," playable Dolphin ship, Dolphin NPC ships and new organics on surfaces.

The expansion also added asteroid base type station including air traffic controllers, and thirty two asteroid bases located in different deep space areas. New challenge scenarios are also added such as four new Incursion scenarios, Driver challenge, Ship launched fighter challenge and Speed docking.

Megaships are also introduced isn the update and these are Flight Operations, Tanker, Cargo, Asteroid Miner, Prison Ship, Passenger and Science Vessel. There are also several stability fixes such as the correcting the crash in the inertial camera simulation when a player is in CQC. The error is also fixed in outfitting when a player replaces the power distributor very fast.

The deadlock that occurs if the galaxy map is opened and closed repeatedly is now fixed and the crashing of ship while players are trying to generate ambient heat inside station is now addressed. The crashing in physics when the data for a wheel is not valid is now addressed.

Frontier also suggests players that when playing Elite Dangerous Horizons, they should not parse empty string when they are in the Commander Interaction History because it will cause the JSON parser to assert. A Commander creator UI is also added as well as a Holo-Me option to cockpit Status Panel.

There are new 50 male and female preset commanders added and feature presets for Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, Neck and Jawline. There are also 14 new hairstyles, new beards, a "rough" type of female base head, and hair shader improvements. Full notes on update 2.3 "The Commanders Beta" for Elite Dangerous Horizons can be accessed via the games official forum here.

And finally, the 3rd Annual Voyager Challenge will begin on March 23 at 10 am GMT, so, commanders should get ready. It is endurance race from Qauthai HV-G C10-3 to the Lyulka Beacon using stock modules ships only.
