We have seen Reactions on Facebook and there have been rumors about the Dislike button, but Facebook is now testing these features on the Messenger.

The Facebook Messenger is one of the most widely used messaging app all over the world on Android or iOS smartphones and now Facebook is trying to make the popular messaging app more appealing to the users. Hoan Do, a reader of TechCrunch, confirmed testing of these new features on Messenger.

Like Us on Facebook

Upon hovering on a message from a friend or someone, a bubble with emojis similar to the Facebook Reactions such as lol, wow, sad, like or thumbs-up appear. A dislike or a thumbs-down and heart-eyes emojis are included. From the bubble, the user can choose and tap an emoji to add a Reaction next to the received message. This feature is somewhat similar to Apple's iMessage where the user can hover over the message to replace some of the words with emojis. Facebook is aiming to improve Messenger by making it more enjoyable to the users, especially in group chats.

"We're always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging. This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message," a statement from Facebook to TechCrunch said.

A timetable for the new updates has not been revealed. However, these tests do not confirm that the features would be released.
