Ubisoft's "The Division" has released a major update on Wednesday. The patch adds more Contamination events, new Dark Zone areas, a new Legendary difficulty setting, balance changes to weapons, new character customization options, and other new features.

Players need to free up 8.5GB worth of storage space on their gaming platform of choice to install the update. However, the release of this major patch is not without any problems as Ubisoft tweeted the following on its official Twitter account:

"Update 1.6 is now available for download on all platforms (approximately 8.5Gb). Servers should be up in 3h."

Ubisoft is reportedly experiencing unexpected complications with the game's servers.

The final expansion of "The Division" is entitled "Last Stand." It will introduce the Last Stand game mode, as well as the Stolen Signal Incursion.

The two previous expansions of "The Division" had separate release dates for different platforms. However, the "Last Stand" will be launched simultaneously on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The "Last Stand" expansion can be purchased by for $15, or interested purchasers can buy it for $40 with "The Division" DLC pass.

Along with the new expansion and the new content, Ubisoft also introduced a free trial for "The Division," and players who own the PS4, PC, and Xbox One version of the title can take the game for a spin without spending a cent. The free trial will last until the player reaches level 8, which is approximately six hours of gameplay.

All of the progress made from the free trial can then be carried over to the full game should the player would want to proceed.

Ubisoft posted a complete list of patch notes on its website.
