A Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected this year following the Note 7 fiasco, as the Korean tech giant has already confirmed that it is continuing the Note brand. As always, the phablet is expected to be a device that can stand above all others. What are its top offerings, per the rumors?

Innovative S-Pen

A patent that was recently filed by Samsung indicates a rather surprising location of the speaker: at the end of the S-Pen. When it is out of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the sound will be transmitted through the phablet's internal speaker and out the opening. When the S-Pen is in, its speaker will transmit the sound.

All-Glass Display

Recent leaked images of the Galaxy S8 are showing the phone without a home button - a design element that the Note 8 will likely copy, if it's to follow the steps of its predecessors. This will make for an all-glass bigger display attached to a chassis with the same dimensions as the Note 7, Inquisitr reported.

3.5mm Headphone Jack

The Galaxy Note 8 is still expected to feature the 3.5mm headphone jack, which Apple ditched. The launch of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with only the Lightning port as the slot for the earphones caused outrage, even when the Cupertino-based company offered Bluetooth earphones (for a price) in the stead of the standard. Its inclusion in the upcoming phablet is the practical choice, per another report from Inquisitr, and people will love Samsung for it.

A Safer Battery

Perhaps, the most important feature of the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 is its battery. The Note 7's downfall was due to its faulty batteries, so the company should learn from its mistakes and release a much safer phone. Previously, Samsung was said to be talking with Murata Manufacturing, which recently acquired Sony's battery business, to possibly supply new batteries for its flagships. This hints to the company's efforts in equipping a better battery.

There are no news yet on when the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will release, but it is expected in the fall.
