Google sent an apology to its customers on Wednesday, February 23 after the Google WiFi and OnHub devices were reset unexpectedly. This made customers unable to connect to their network.

Google WiFi supposedly provides better surfing. However, it turned out to be the other way around as customers suddenly experienced failed connection even though they are connected to their network. Customers panicked after they discovered that Google WiFi and OnHub routers had been reset. Some customers also tried to unplug the router to connect their device once again but only to get the same result, The Verge reported.

Many customers turned to Google's Forum and other social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to complain. One user commented on Google's forum that this incident is "not a good sign." Eventually, Google posted an apology on its forum and explained that the problem is caused by the Google Account engine that caused Google WiFi and OnHub device to restore to factory settings.

Google further explained that when a device is restored its factory settings, all of its data and network settings are also erased. Therefore, users need to set up the device once again like how it was done the first time. This will include setting a device name, DNS settings, and others. Although these steps are complicated, Google says that this is the only way to set up the network once again.

On the other hand, if the customer enters the previous network name and password, the devices that have been connected to it will automatically reconnect.
