A proposed bill has been submitted that would allow the UK to conduct research and studies on space. The government had allocated a budget of about 10 million pounds. The draft legislation will be unveiled this week.

The new proposal advocates the launch of commercial satellites for the first time from British soil. It would serve as a breaking ground for the formulation of spaceports in the UK. The program is expected to start in 2020, according to the Spaceflight Bill.

Way back in 1957, the UK already had a powerful space program. However, British firms continued to rely on the U.S., India, and Japan to launch satellites.

On Monday, Tariq Ahmad, the UK Aviation Minister, explained no spaceflight has ever been launched from their country.

"Our ambition is to allow for safe and competitive access to space from the UK," he said. Amad said that the goal is to make the UK a prominent name in the new commercial space age.

Meanwhile, the Department of Transport has stressed that to support the growth of better vaccines and antibiotics scientist should be permitted to have a direct access to space and has to administer research in zero gravity. To study how microgravity affects the microstructure and pharmacokinetics of drug, NASA has conducted experiments aboard the International Space Station, said IBTimes.

"The act would open the possibility of UK scientists traveling to space. Thus, they could conduct a research and could grow vaccines and antibiotics which built up in places where gravity did not exist. The aviation could as well bring out vital scientific experiments on medical issues in hundreds. These issues could be such as aging and a human body," the Department of Transport stated, according to Reuters.

This week the draft of the bill has been anticipated and the proposed act would be presented this year to parliament. A 10 million pounds ($12.4 million) budget would be allocated as the budget of the proposal. The government had made it ready to advance commercial launch potentialities as early as this month.
