The GOP is doubling their efforts in repealing the Affordable Care Act. However, a mishap in the official GOP's Twitter handle has the internet diverting their attention to another issue.

This is following the recent Republican retreat, one that already received some criticism from the masses. The GOP Twitter account posted a tribute to President Abraham Lincoln by posting the picture of his monument. The Tweet has a caption saying, "Happy Birthday. President Lincoln!"

However, the issue isn't in the gist behind the tweet, nor is its caption. The issue is within the quote that appears on the photo stating "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years."

The thing is, it had "Abraham Lincoln" under the quote signifying it's his quote, which is far from the truth. According to Gizmodo, the quote originated from Doctor Edward Stieglitz. Over the years, the same quote underwent multiple variations including one from US senator Adlai Stevenson.

The reports reveals that there weren't any records that Abraham Lincoln ever said that quote. The internet is taking advantage in making a big joke of the whole incident.

According to HuffingtonPost, multiple Twitter users are jumping in on GOP's Twitter mistake. Various users went on to tweet a myriad of silly quotes and placing Abraham Lincoln's name at the end of the phrase. This just goes to show how the internet never lets these mishaps slip by without capitalizing on it with some tomfoolery.

After receiving some heavy criticism from the Republican retreat speech, the GOP gets more unwanted attention from jokesters. If this becomes a long-running trend, then this joke will forever be posted via social media in the years to come.
