Netflix, the company that brings movies, news, documentaries, shows and the likes to the viewers for binge watching has come up with the concept of brain waves as remote control. The network will make it possible for hands-free viewing when it introduces a mind-controlled device. A group of Netflix engineers came up with the concept for a gadget that will only use the brain waves to allow the viewer to browse and pick their choice.

The device that was introduced by the Netflix engineers during the recent Hackaton last January is called "Mindflix" and it uses a Muse headband. This specialized headband will be worn on the head by the viewers who will just choose the show thru their brain waves as reported by LiveScience. While this device was originally designed for meditation, this was hacked and innovated for those who suffer forgetfulness or those who are lazy enough to use their hands to pick a program to watch.

Additionally, as reported by Wareable, Mindflix will be utilizing electroencephalography in reading the electrical activity of the brain. The viewer will just have to move their heads to browse on the menus, choose the program then think play and watch. With this gadget, the remote will become obsolete to be replaced by the brain, which will act as the remote control.

At this time, this technology has still a long way to go for its development before it becomes a reality until it becomes perfect for release. While, Netflix is enthusiastic on the invention, it has not declared the idea of offering the hands-free viewing.
