Oscar-winning actor, Matthew McConaughey, is one of the few celebrities that asked the public to give the new president of the United States a chance, even those who do not agree with his beliefs in an interview with Andrew Marr.

This was after he was asked if it was finally time for the Hollywood to give him a break since almost everyone has voiced out their hate on him.

In the interview, the actor said everyone doesn’t have a choice because he is already the country’s president. “It’s very dynamic and as divisive of a time and inauguration as we’ve had, at the same time, it’s time for us to embrace. Shake hands with this fact, be constructive with him over the next four years. “

He also explained that even though many disagree with the things that he has done and said, people should try to see what the President does compare to his statements. This is because regardless of how things are happening, he is already the President of the country for the next four years.

The interview happened before Trump ordered the immigration ban so the actor’s reaction is yet to be released. McConaughey is married to Camila Alves who is also an immigrant and moved to the country from Brazil when she was just 15 years old. This is also the first time the actor has spoken his opinion about the country’s politics.

Matthey McConaughey is known for his movies like “True Detective”, “Wolf of Wall Street”, and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”.
