The long wait is over

Just over a day ago, Polygon reported the increasing impatience of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players over the promised Pokemon Bank update this January. Since time has been running out, fans have been vocal with their impatience with the impending release of the update, which was first announced in September last year.

With the help of Pokemon Bank, players will be able to make their latest Pokemon game in 3DS compatible with earlier titles like Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X and Y and vice versa. It will also make the Red, Blue, Green and Yellow releases available on Virtual Console compatible with "Pokemon Sun and Moon." As Niantic's habit, they waited just until the last minute to release the Bank update and chose the last Wednesday of January to mark the event.

Pokemon Bank is now available on Nintendo 3DS eShop

Players who are interested to get the Pokemon Bank update and the Poke Transporter can head out to the Nintendo 3DS eShop and get the update. However, players should be subscribed to Pokemon Bank according to GameSpot. Subscriptions are up for $5 yearly - a cheap price to pay for the ability to transfer the best Pokemon from previous titles that Pokemon Sun and Moon do not have at the moment.

On top of that, all subscribers of the Pokemon Bank will also get Mewnium Z, a special Z-Crystal that is exclusive to Mew during battle. The free gift can be redeemed through the Mystery Gift and will be available until Oct. 2.
