Some Facebook users in the US and Europe have revealed that they received error messages while trying to visit the site on Friday, Jan, 13.

Some Facebook users in the US and Europe have revealed that they received error messages while trying to visit the site on Friday, Jan, 13.

Facebook experienced a temporary blackout on Friday, January 13 with many users reporting that the website was down. The problem was mainly encountered in eastern and southern coasts of the United States and Central Europe.

The California-based company has not released a statement on the blackout.

Many users took to Twitter to complain that Facebook was unavailable. Some joked that the blackout had to do something with the day being Friday the 13th.

Users said when they tried to visit Facebook, an error message indicated that the network was down and that the company's technicians are working to resolve the issue.

Users also complained about technical glitches of different kinds. Some said they experienced problems when opening pages that they manage, while others said their Facebook page did not load properly or displayed incomplete content. There were also complaints about notifications not opening.
