"We've just released Minecraft for the slim black boxes. And, for a limited time, it comes with seven pieces of lovely DLC, giving you the chance to customize the fun to your liking," said James Owen, Mojang's director of creative communications.

The package includes Town Folk, Holiday 2015, City Folk, Plastic, Cartoon, Natural, and Festive 2016 mashup. This package is only available for a limited period. Users of this Apple device will also experience the Creative Mode (that delivers unlimited resources for crafting) and the Survival Mode (that involves actions and exciting combats).

Meanwhile, the update also delivers new single-player features and will be available for TViOS, Pocket, and Windows 10 versions at the same time.

Minecraft gameplay lets users search and dig for construction resources, make buildings using textured cubes, battle with monsters, and join an unending exploration and crafting of items. It lacks Xbox Live support and Minecraft Realms for multiple players, but the game developer Mojang said that these would be available in the "near future" for Apple TV.

Another present for this holiday season is the zero-charge availability of new Ender Update for Minecraft Pocket players on iOS. For a more exciting gameplay, users can purchase the Festive Mashup Pack 2016 for only $3.39.

The announcement that the fourth-generation Apple TV now supports Minecraft was made by Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook in October during a MacBook Pro event. Apple has been trying to introduce low-cost gaming through TViOS and even markets Made for iOS (MFI) third-party gaming controllers. Apart from Minecraft, the American tech company also supports several game titles including Guitar Hero and Crossy Road.
