Facebook users on Android devices can now upload videos in HD resolution. 

It is puzzling that it has taken this long for Facebook to accommodate this feature as Android phones have been capable of shooting HD, even 4K videos, for a long time already. Perhaps, what is more interesting are the other new updates that Facebook is testing with some users, particularly the floating video window that you can watch while using other apps, downloading videos for offline viewing, and the option to select specific video quality.

While the iOS version of the Facebook app has supported uploading videos in HD for two years now, the Android version of the app version had lacked this feature. 

This feature has been rolled out to all Android users. Picture-in-picture video will also be coming to the app soon, along with the option to download public and allowable videos for offline viewing. With these features, similar to what Facebook Messenger requires for Chat Heads, users will need to give the "draw over other apps" permission.

The Facebook video player already has the "HD" toggle imposed in the app, and with upcoming updates, expect it to start offering different resolution options, just like YouTube. Users can choose the resolution that can accommodate their device's multitasking activities.

Facebook has been focusing on making significant improvements to the video features of the Android version of its app. With the obvious difference in the number of Android users compared to other platforms, these updates should make a lot of people very happy.
