A handful of leaks has provided the tech community with an insider view of how LG's upcoming flagship smartphone is shaping up. There are also rumors that the upcoming LG G6 will sport a reflective metal build on its rear panel. Compared to the LG G5, the new metallic rear panel will add a more polished look to the LG G6.

When LG released the LG G5 and the LG V20, the tech community lauded the company for introducing a device with a metal build and removable battery. However, the same cannot be said for the upcoming LG G6 as rumors indicate that the company will be ditching the removable battery feature, according to Phone Arena.

Apple ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack on its latest iPhone model, and there are rumors that Samsung will follow suit with its Galaxy S8 flagship device. Now that major smartphone manufacturers are slowly turning their backs on the ubiquitous headphone jack, other players are expected to follow the trend as well. It appears that LG will not follow the latest trend. According to Phone Arena, the LG G6 will keep its 3.5mm headphone jack.

According to GameNGuide, there had been rumors that the LG G6 will have at least 5GB of memory and an iris scanner which will help secure the device. Regarding its chipset, the phone is expected to have either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or the Snapdragon 835.

The LG G6 is expected to be unveiled during the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show with its release date pegged for sometime in April 2017. The phone is expected to run on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
