The tech community is excited about the upcoming release of AMD's new Zen architecture. AMD is scheduled to unveil the device on Dec. 13. Ahead of the scheduled event, AMD has confirmed that it will debut the new AM4 platform and the X370 Zen chipset at the Dec. 13 event called New Horizon.

Aside from the Zen architecture, the tech community is also keen to find out what AMD's new motherboard platform and chipset will be like. There are rumors that AMD is planning to release three new chipsets namely X370, A320, and B350. The X370 is believed to be the top-tiered model, the B350 its mid-tier counterpart, and the A320 for the entry level market.

All three new chipsets are built on AMD's new AM4 platform. According to Hot Hardware, AM4 will support DDR4 memory, NVMe, SATA Express, PCIe3.0, and the second generation USB 3.1 which has theoretical transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps. Based on these set of specs alone, it would appear that AMD is keen on pushing the boundaries of commercial computing even further.

According to Kit Guru, a handful of motherboard manufacturers will be present at AMD's New Horizon event. Some of these companies are also expected to show off some of their products which will support AMD's X370 chipset and the new AM4 platform. Aside from AM4 motherboards, there are rumors that some hardware manufacturers will also unveil AM4 compatible custom CPU coolers and other peripherals at the New Horizon event.

The New Horizon event will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will be live streamed for online viewers.

The AMD Zen architecture, along with all related technologies, is expected to hit the market early next year. Considering this schedule, many tech analysts are expecting AMD along with its motherboard partners to show off some of their hardware at next year's Consumer Electronics Show in January.
