The Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone has been introduced in Japan.

The Alcatel Idol 4 was launched exclusively through Cricket Wireless in the U.S. in August. It comes with a virtual reality headset of a decent build quality.

The Alcatel Idol 4 has a 5.2-inch full high-definition IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz and coupled with Adreno 405 GPU.

The Alcatel Idol 4 runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box. It comes with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. Both variants come with 16GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to a maximum of 512GB via a microSD card slot.

The Alcatel Idol 4 features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with dual tone LED flash and autofocus and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with 84-degree wide angle lens and a LED flash. It is packed with a 2610 mAh battery that can last for a day of mixed usage. It measures 147 x 72.5 x 7.1 mm in dimension and feels light in hand with a weight of just 130 grams.

The Alcatel Idol 4 has a fingerprint scanner, volume rocker, 3.6W stereo speakers, and a power button. It also has a physical button called as Boom Key, which can be customized to perform different functions.

The Alcatel Idol 4 supports dual SIM dual standby with hybrid SIM slot where the second slot can be used for either secondary SIM or microSD card. It supports VoLTE and VoWiFi for high-quality audio calls even in low signal areas. Other connectivity options are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, WiFi direct, OTG (on-the-go), GPS, and microUSB 2.0.

The Alcatel Idol 4 is priced at $320 (around Rs. 21,500 or 34,800 yuan) and will be on sale starting Nov. 22.
